China stockpiles Indonesian nickel ore prior to Indonesia’s export ban. This has caused upward pressure on nickel pricing. China is estimated to run out by mid year. Speculation is that prices will push up then. China is the market gorilla for stainless, producing 48% of the stainless tons produced in 2013.
